The North-West University (NWU) Library and Information Service (LIS) is a dynamic, future-focused academic hub supporting the Mahikeng, Potchefstroom, and Vanderbijlpark campuses. Guided by our strategic priorities, we provide seamless access to information through a blend of traditional collections, digital resources, and innovative technologies that enhance teaching, learning, and research.

Our libraries offer purpose-designed spaces, including the Teaching and Learning Commons, Postgraduate Commons, collaborative areas, research support environments, and training facilities, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity, student success, and evolving academic needs. We promote information, digital, and research literacies; foster open scholarship; and embed quality assurance and user experience frameworks to continually enhance our services, spaces, and resources.

Beyond the university, we actively engage with local communities to advance various literacies and support educational initiatives, contributing to social impact and lifelong learning. Through these integrated services and strategic initiatives, the NWU LIS plays a vital role in empowering users, driving academic excellence, and shaping an informed, connected society.
