1. NWU Student and Staff Access to Databases

 

  • On-campus access

    • You must be a registered student/staff member of North-West University to access library databases.
    • Access is given automatically via IP authentication.
    • Some of the e-journals are individual subscriptions that do not work via IP authentication and require a unique password e.g. LexisNexis. Please contact your faculty librarian if you are not authenticated via CAS.

 

  • Off-campus access

    • You must be a registered student/staff member of the North-West University to access library databases from off-campus.
    • Access is given via CAS (Central Authentication Service).
    • Example of our login screen:

      Step1: Click on the link that directs you to CAS.

      Step 2: Type your CAS username and unique password. (It is the username and password that you use to log into a NWU computer or eFundi.)

    • Problems with your CAS username or password.
      • If you do not have a CAS username and password call the Student Service Call Centres and ask them to help you set up your CAS username and password:

      • If you want to change your CAS password (university number) and username (unique password chosen by you) click here.

2. Non-Affiliated User Access

  • Users not registered with the University e.g. prospective Masters and Doctors students can arrange for access to our databases via our Loan Services Department. Note that not all lending categories have access to databases.
