NWU Student and Staff Access

On-campus access

  • You must be a registered student/staff member of North-West University to access library databases.
  • Access is given automatically via IP authentication using a combination of our EZproxy server and CAS (Central Authentication Service).
  • Some of the e-journals are individual subscriptions that do not work via IP authentication and require a unique password e.g. LexisNexis. Please contact your faculty librarian if you are not authenticated via CAS.

Off-campus access

  • You must be a registered student/staff member of the North-West University to access library databases from off-campus.
  • Access is given via IP authentication using a combination of our EZproxy server and CAS (Central Authentication Service). You will be asked to enter your username and unique password to gain access to our databases and e-journals. It is the username and password that you use to log into a NWU computer or eFundi.

  • Problems with your CAS password.

Non-Affiliated User Access

  • Users not registered with the University e.g. prospective Masters and Doctors students can arrange for access to our databases via our Loan Services Department.
  • Not all lending categories have access to databases.
