From Print to Digital: Digitisation Services at the DSC

The Digital Scholarship Centre provides access to specialised scanning equipment that can support the conversion of suitable physical materials into digital formats.

What can be digitised?

Depending on the condition, format, copyright and purpose of the project, digitisation may be suitable for:

  • Theses and dissertations
  • Books
  • Research publications
  • Historical documents
  • Archival materials
  • Photographs
  • Reports
  • Other scholarly materials

Digitisation can help researchers and the Library preserve valuable materials while improving access to information in digital form.

A digitisation project can involve several stages:

Selection.

Scanning.

Image Processing.
