Your NWU journey starts here — apply, track, accept, and get ready to begin!
1. Application
- Go to the Application Portal App to apply. On this app, you can also
- Check your application status
- Accept your conditional offer and final offer. (Both must be done within a specific time frame. If you miss the offer deadline, the offer is forfeited.)
- Download the following:
- Financial undertaking form
- Your application summary
- Conditional offer letter
- Fee quotation
- Final offer letter (Your university number will be on your final offer letter.)
- Note: Download the documents listed during each step. Once you move to the next step, the documents available in the previous step are removed from the system. For example, after you accept the final offer, your final offer letter and fee quotation will no longer be available on the application app.
- Your final status on the Application Portal App should say "Registration Ready". Then you can move on to the next step: creating your NWU email.

2. Create your NWU email
After you have accepted your final offer from the NWU, you can create your NWU email address. Note that the email setup becomes available 24–48 hours after your final offer is accepted.

6. First Year Navigator and eFundi
- First Year Navigator - The First Year Navigator is the tool used by CTL to extend the academic orientation of first-year students beyond the official NWU orientation period. CTL presents sessions during orientation to help students adapt to university life and become aware of educational support services.
- eFundi - eFundi is the North-West University's (NWU) online Learning Management System (LMS), essentially the virtual campus where students access course materials, submit assignments, write tests, receive announcements from lecturers, and find learning resources, acting as a central hub for teaching, learning, and collaboration.
