Your NWU journey starts here — apply, track, accept, and get ready to begin!

1. Applications

  • *** Undergraduate applications are closed for 2026. Applications for 2027 open on 1 April.***
  • Go to the Application Portal App [Guide] to apply. On this app, you can also
    • Check your application status
    • Accept your conditional offer and final offer. (Both must be done within a specific time frame. If you miss the offer deadline, the offer is forfeited.)
    • Download the following:
      • Financial undertaking form
      • Your application summary
      • Conditional offer letter
      • Fee quotation
      • Final offer letter (Your student number will be on your final offer letter.)
      • Note: Download the documents listed during each step. Once you move to the next step, the documents might no longer be available. For example, after you accept the final offer, you will no longer have access to your final offer letter and fee quotation on the application app.
    • Your final status on the Application Portal App should say Registration Ready. Then you can move on to the next step: creating your NWU email.

2. Create your NWU email

After you have accepted your final offer from the NWU, you can set up your NWU email address [Guide]. Note that the email setup becomes available 48 hours after your final offer is accepted. If you have any trouble setting up your NWU email address, contact IT Services.

Possible error messages:

  • Your ID number and email don't match
    • Make sure you typed your username and password correctly
    • From the moment you accept your final offer, it takes 48 hours before you can set up your NWU email. This is one of the error messages you might see if you try to log in before 48 hours have passed.
    • Contact IT services if the problem persists.
  • Your Authenticator App is not working.
