***Temporary closure of the Library on the Mahikeng Campus***
Please note that, due to ongoing restoration work following flood damage at the Library on the Mahikeng Campus, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) has recommended the immediate closure of the library until further notice.
During this period, students are encouraged to make use of the following alternative study spaces on campus: Building A, Rooms 111-114.
Library staff will be temporarily based in Building A3, Computer Labs (G05 and G06), for consultation and support.

Installation of security gates: Library and Information Service
Please be informed that the Library and Information Service is currently installing RFID security gates at the Ferdinand Postma Library and the Natural Sciences Library on the Potchefstroom Campus. This installation will involve drilling, which may cause some disruptions.
The process is expected to be completed by Friday, 28 March 2025.

Partial Closure: Mahikeng Campus Library
Mahikeng Campus Library is partially closed due to damages caused by floods, but the following key services remain available:
Available Services
- Junior Commons: Open to all users for printing purposes. It offers 34 seats and 9 computers dedicated to printing.
- Senior Research Commons: Now accessible to Honours, Master's, and Doctoral students.
- Training Room 102 (2nd Floor): Available for use, limited to 2 hours per user, with a 44-seat capacity.
- 24-Hour Study Space: 155 seats available, accessible via staircases next to the library entrance.
- Writing Centre: Now accessible through the 24-Hour Study Space entrance.
- Short Loan Study Area: Open to all users with 65 seats available.
- Borrowing and returning books.
- Faculty librarian consultations.
- Loading cash and printing services.
- Access to prescribed books and more.
Unavailable Services
- Study spaces on Level 1.
- Undergraduate Commons (Ground Floor).
- External membership services.
