Holds (Book Reservations)
What is a Hold?
- A library hold is a reservation for a library item (like a book) that is currently checked out or unavailable, allowing you to be notified and pick it up when it becomes available. Placing a hold puts you on a waiting list for the item, and you'll be contacted when it's ready for you to pick up and check out.
How to Place a Hold
- Eligibility: Only registered NWU staff and students can place holds.
- Process: Use WorldCat Discovery to request a hold on an unavailable book.
- Steps: Follow the Hold Placement Guide to complete your request.
